Rubber Stamping Workshop
Rubber Stamping—Carve your own custom Stamp!
Old Murdock School
52 Murdock Ave, Winchendon
Two classes will be offered. Early afternoon and one in the evening.
Create your own rubber stamp. Carve a custom stamp and can print over and over again on paper or fabric.
Come with your own idea for an image (image size about 2.5”x2.5”), or use one of the designs provided, or design one on the spot. You will learn to carve the rubber block using linocut tools. Then you will learn how to print your stamp a couple different ways. We will have paper, cards, sticker paper (for your laptops or notebooks, etc.), bookmarkers for you to stamp on. You can bring your own fabric to stamp on (tote bags, patches or t-shirt, etc.) You’ll take everything you make home, and the best part is you can keep stamping.

This class is fairly intensive and involves one-on-one as needed with students. Open to adults and teens who are good with their hands.
Learn how to hand-bind your own blank book! In this workshop you will learn the Coptic method of binding which results in a book with a beautifully stitched spine that lays flat when opened- perfect for a sketchbook or journal. We will leave the binding exposed to show off your handiwork. You’ll do every step by hand, from folding the individual pages with a bone folder, to poking holes with an awl, sewing with a curved needle and linen thread, and finally gluing the soft cover together with archival book glue.
